Reintroducing Myself + Spring Greenery

It's been awhile since I updated y'all on my life here in Austin, Texas. Figured today was better than never. Here's a quick run down of what I've been up to!

Spring is basically here so I figured what better time to reintroduce myself to all my new followers/readers while also giving you a look at the stunning spring greenery we have floating around our home right now?

So sit back and get to know me a little better while enjoying the beautiful blooms!
Here's a quick run-down of who I am....aka my obligatory "about me"....updated a bit to catch y'all up with where I am at this point in my life thus far!

I'm a college graduate, former teacher, boutique manager, candle shop co-owner, dog mom, girlfriend, and blogger. Whew! That's a lot. Seriously, my resume is all over the place but hey, that's what makes me...me! I spent 23 of my last 25 years living in a teeny-tiny Tennessee town. Then about three years ago,  I fell head over heels for the cutest Texas boy you've ever seen. A few months later and I was packing up and moving 1,500 miles to be by his side. In October 2015, I officially became an Austin resident and I can honestly say I've never been happier.

Eddie K is more than just he love-of-my-life. He's my best friend, my roommate, my doggy-daddy, and my business partner. He's every little thing I never knew I needed (BUT DID) all wrapped up in one perfect human being. I'm sure what I did to deserve him but I'm so glad he's mine.

Eddie K and I spend most of our free time just being together and enjoying the city we live in. If there's a vintage store or brunch spot within 50 miles, chances are we've heard of it or visited it. At home, we are owned by a carefree+energetic little girl-dog. She was the best post-Christmas gift I could've ever asked for. She's a mix-breed/"shelter special" who even has her own instagram and hashtag: #LorettaThePointer. She can do exactly EIGHT TRICKS (sit, lay down, roll over, shake, high-five, hug, treat on the nose, + spin) and usually lays in my lap as I blog. She's the root of most of our favorite memories and we couldn't imagine our lives without her.

We recently became members of a church called Life Austin, here in Austin, and couldn't be happier with the decision. We've grown to love the pastors, peers, and environment they have to offer. If you're ever passing through, you can meet us at the chapel. Seriously, we love it there.

In June of 2016, Eddie and I embarked on a new journey and found ourselves in uncharted territory ; we decided to open our own business. Whiskey Boat Goods is an all natural candle and soap company we have literally built from the ground up. Launching on 9.1.16, all we hoped was that these handmade goods would bring joy to everyone who received them. A year later and we are in stores all over the United States and expanding more and more daily.

As for blogging, I started my journey in 2011 as the face behind The Tennessee Life. TL started as a way for me to remember my thoughts and lesson plans while attending college for elementary education. From there, it went from school ideas to fashion and then transferred into me sharing my outfits that I wore while attending country music festivals.

About a year into the making of The Tennessee Life, everything flipped upside down. I stopped writing about everything EXCEPT music. I worked with artists on the verge of success, reviewed many shows, songs, and videos, and even found myself in a face-to-face interview with the one and only, Mr. Garth Brooks.

BUT....after 3 years and a move across the country, I'm back to blogging about all the other important parts of life on a new blog: Dreams + Gasoline. Stick around for all things style+beauty, recipes+dining, product reviews, home decor + travel tips, and my life as a newly-found Texas girl, dog mom, girl boss, business owner, and girlfriend.

We all have a story, this one's mine.....
