A Guide To Belize: San Pedro

While in Belize for our honeymoon we decided to experience life on a different island other than Caye Caulker. With that being said, it was as easy as buying water taxi tickets to San Pedro and back on our second day in the country.

The water taxi was quick 20 minute ride on the San Pedro Express. If you are going, book through them. They seem to be the most reliable and DEFINITELY have the most comfortable seating. Important to note: they are the most expensive.

We hopped off the water taxi and started our journey down the island. Here's a few things we noticed.
1. There are way more people selling "stuff." It's basically like China Town. Lots of heckling and yelling 'Five dollars! Come in!'. Most every store and booth sell the same things. Nothing much different than the stuff we saw on Caye Caulker.

2. SO MANY CARS. And by so many cars, I mean a lot for an island. Everywhere you looked, you were dodging a car. For this reason alone, Caye Caulker was better.

3. The island itself looks much like Caye Caulker. Same style homes, restaurants, boat docks, etc. Again, just more of them and a lot busier.

4. There's a restaurant called Palapa Bar & Grill that you MUST go to. We shared two appetizers and both had drinks. It was both our favorite thing about the island trip. The snapper fingers (think fancy and fresh fish sticks) were life changing....dramatic? Not the slightest bit. GO THERE.
