Family Photos - Part 1

We recently had our favorite photographer, April from Twinty Photography), our to our new home to capture some family photos now that we are settled in. For the sake of shorter blogs, I'm going to break up the session/photos into a few parts.

Jennings is now 5 months old and is truly growing and changing every single day. There's so many tiny details about her that I never want to forget. SO, photos are a must around here.

I whip out my camera most days and capture memories, milestones, etc but there's always something special about being in the photos and seeing how someone else captures your family.

I decided I'd break it up into sections and share a few of my favorite shots from the day.

THEY ARE SO SWEET, SIMPLE, REAL, & SPECIAL.

Truly my favorite photos.

PART ONE: Kitchen + Living Room

The Heart of Our Home: The Kitchen

I actually saw a photo on Pinterest of a mom and her kids shot through a casement window and LOVED IT. I always bring ideas to the table when we schedule shoots with April. She's always very welcoming to the ideas and captures them in a way that's even better than the example.

** I would not do this is scheduling a mini-session FYI**

Ever since my maternity shoot (seen here, also shot by April), I've been obsessed with the idea of using florals in photos. I reached out to a local Bastrop business, Beautifully Wild Flower Truck, and grabbed the most stunning bouquet of flowers. They do local pop-ups so if you ever see them around town, stop and build your own bouquet!

Where We Spend Our Days: The Living Room
When talking with April, I knew I wanted the photos to feel mostly relaxed and authentic to what life truly looks like around here. Did I hide the bottle sterilizer and clean-up the toys? YOU BET. But we still managed to showcase our home and where we spend our days in a low-key/laid-back kind of way. 110% recommend this lifestyle type of shoot. Lounge on the couch in just your socks, play on the floor, laugh with your family.
Again, truly the most special photos of our family.

Up next, PART TWO: The Stairs + The Entrance
