Our Favorite Moscow Mule Recipe

A truly great cocktail is about more than alcohol swished together with your favorite mixer. Any cocktail worth sipping should have its own personality and story. The legend of the Moscow Mule, a standout among vodka drinks made with fizzy ginger beer, lime juice, and served in stunning copper mugs, fits on the list of a classic American cocktails like few others.

One you have burned through your The Lonesome Dove candle, you are left with a beautiful mug from Austin-based company, Sertodo. Clean out with soap and water, and you are ready to make yourself a drink. Below is a recipe for our favorite Moscow mule.

HOW TO MAKE A MOSCOW MULE:

To make a Moscow Mule, simply:
  1. Fill a glass or copper mug with ice.  Crushed ice is traditional, but any kind will do.
  2. Add vodka and lime juice.  And feel free to toss the remaining squeezed lime into the glass/mug. We like to use Titos vodka but the options are endless!
  3. Add ginger beer.  Fill to the top with ginger beer. Our favorite brand is Fever-Tree.
  4. Stir and serve!  Give the drink a quick stir, and then serve!
Reasons Why Copper Mugs Are Important:
Temp: keeps your beverage extra cold!
Taste: the organic taste of copper compliments the drink
Experience: come on, it looks (and feels) cool doesn't it?
