Chicken Fajitas for BLW (baby-led weaning)

One of the benefits of BLW is not making things specifically for your baby. It's about adapting what you are eating to work for them.

Tonight we had chicken fajitas for dinner.

Here's a look at how WE ate it and how SHE ate it.

JENNINGS'S PLATE:

- Bell Pepper:
Roasted these in the oven with avocado oil at 350 degrees until soft. Roughly 25 minutes. For this food, she picked it up with her hands and ate it.

- Avocado:
Tonight I served the avocado mashed. This added another texture to her plate plus allowed the use of her spoons.

- Chicken:
I'm still working on incoorporting meat into her meals. To be honest, it was a little overcooked so it shredded VERY easily and made me nervous. So, I put it into the forged feeder for her to "taste" and also offered her bits of it by hand.

TIP: You can serve your baby food by hand and it still work with BLW. You simply hold it in front of them and let them bring their mouth to the food versus putting the food in their mouth.

OUR PLATE:

We ate our meal as fajitas on tortillas. We had bell pepper + onions, chicken, cheese, tomato, lettuce, and avocado topped with some hot sauce and sour cream!

As you can see, we were able to have a complete [and normal!] meal while adapting it to meet our baby's needs for starting solids!
