Veggie Tots For BLW (baby-led weaning)

One month into BLW (baby-led weaning) and I'm finally starting to get some recipes under my belt.

[Additionally we adapt our meals for J too. I'll work on sharing some of those as we go, as well.]

This is one of my current faves to make in bulk. Broccoli is one of J's favorite food and she will sit and eat it until just the stems are left. SO, I decided to mix it into a veggie tot and see how she liked them. I also threw in a few carrots that I had softened a few days ago as well. Hopefully this is an easy recipe that both you and your baby enjoy.

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED:

[amounts vary depending on how much you are trying to make]

- Broccoli

- Carrots

- Potatos

- Cheese

- Everything I used was organic but that's not totally necessary and entirely up to your preferences -

STEP - BY - STEP:

Step 1: Chop your broccoli, carrots, and potatoes into chunks. This will make the boiling process faster.

Step 2: Bring a pot of water to a boil. Carefully add in all the veggies and boil on medium/high until completely soft. For me, this took about 12 minutes.

Step 3: Mash everything together in one bowl and add in a little bit of cheese to help bind together.

- NOTE!!!! Make sure your baby doesn't have any sort of cow milk allergy before trying this recipe.

Step 4: Form into tots or balls and bake for 25ish minutes at 350 degrees until slightly crispy and formed. Since Jennings is only 6 months old, I did a lighter bake and pulled around 20 minutes so they were still very soft but stayed in form so she could hold.

Step 5: SERVE! I'm going to give Jennings these with a "smoothie": aka yogurt + berries blended into a liquid and then frozen into cubes. I'll put this in her forged feeder [found here] and let her finish off the meal with it.
