Greek Bowls for BLW (baby-led weaning)

I’m back with another easy meal for you family + baby. These are meals we’ve cooked for ourselves and adapted for Jennings. We started baby-led weaning (BLW) over a month ago and it’s been great for Jennings and not as difficult as expected for us. I have a whole blog about starting BLW and all the things you need to know that you can read here:

Starting Solids/What You Need

Tonight we had Greek bowls (with meatballs) for dinner.

Here's a look at how WE ate it and how SHE ate it.

JENNINGS'S PLATE:

-Meatball:
I made a big batch of these meatballs this week and we actually ended up eating them for two meals. I used THIS RECIPE. For Jennings, I made several meatballs the size of her fist and served whole. She broke them apart on her own and ate with her hands.

-Cucumber:
Served raw. I washed, trimmed the ends, and cut in half. She was able to gnaw on the cucumber but also get some of the insides out. I trimmed the eaten parts and allowed her fresh ends to chew on a few times during the meal.

OUR PLATE:

For our plates, I served the meatballs (same recipe just smaller in size) over rice. Topped the bowls with cucumber, tomatoes, olives, arugula, a bit of taziki sauce, and a spoonful of hummus. Sprinkled some dill on top and enjoy!

As you can see, we were able to have a complete [and normal!] meal while adapting it to meet our baby's needs for starting solids! Plus, she loved it which you can tell in these photos:
